Service to celebrate Christmas story

The Oban Times - - NEWS -

With Christmas Day just over two weeks away, a town carol service will take place in Fort William tomorrow (Friday December 7).

The service begins at 6.30pm at Duncansburgh MacIntosh Church. Lochaber Community Wind band will supply the music at this child-friendly, family event.

Reverend Richard Baxter said: ‘The aim is to have a celebration of the Christmas story with well-known carols and readings in a relaxed format.

‘We hope this will become a regular part of Christmas celebrations for people around the town from all faith backgrounds and none, so it will be different from all the existing events around the churches.’

There will be a collection at the service for Lochaber Foodbank, which meets the needs of some of the most vulnerable people in the community not just at Christmas but throughout the year.

Everyone is welcome to come along and join in.
