Public to get look at new hospital design

-

Designs for Broadford’s new hospital will be on display at two public information sessions for communities of Skye, Lochalsh and South West Ross early next year.

The first session will be held at the Lighthouse Christian Centre, Kyle of Lochalsh, from 1pm to 6.30pm on Wednesday February 6.

The second event will be held in the Portree Chamber, Tigh na Sgire, Portree, on Thursday February 7, again from 1pm to 6.30pm.

Preliminary designs for the new building on land adjacent to the Dr MacKinnon Memorial Hospital in Broadford and Broadford Health Centre, were first shown just over a year ago.

Since then the design team has incorporated ideas from drop-in sessions and worked with lead stakeholders to help fine tune the design.

Tracy Ligema, NHS Highland’s head of community services, North and West Division, said: ‘Technical representatives from the team will be on hand at the latest drop-in events to explain and listen to the views of local residents and answer any questions the public may have.

‘This is an excellent opportunity for the local community to speak to the design team about any aspect of the build and design. Members from the operational unit will also be present to discuss the proposed NHS Highland services.’
