Highland band to do battle for folk award
The new year has got off to a great start for Highland band Dougal’s Jumper, pictured.
It has been chosen as one of the five bands from across Scotland to be part of the Hands Up For Trad ‘Battle of the Folk Bands 2019’ at The Drygate, Glasgow, on Saturday January 19 as part of Celtic Connections
Former Glenfinnan resident Catherine Stables, who plays bagpipes and Scottish small pipes in the band, said: ‘We are very excited to have been given this opportunity. Hand Up For Trad is such a driving force behind Scottish traditional music. It is an honour to have been picked.’
Dougal’s Jumper has just released its CD called ‘The Way I’m Wired’ and has gained a reputation for their quirky online videos.
