At about 1.30pm on Thursday January 3, at Tesco in Oban, a man aged 63, stole a number of items. Police attended and the man was charged and issued with a recorded police warning.

Damage

At about 3am on Sunday January 6, on the A85 near Taynuilt, an unknown vehicle collided with a BT telegraph pole causing damage and disrupting communicat­ion services. The driver of the vehicle failed to stop.

Public urinating

At about 1.30am on Sunday January 6, in Stevenson Street, Oban, a man aged 20 urinated in the street. Police attended and the man was issued and with a recorded police warning.

Drunk

At about 8am on Sunday January 6, at McKelvie Road, Oban, a man aged 23 was arrested for being found in charge of a vehicle while under the influence of alcohol. The vehicle was also not insured and not registered for road use. The man was later charged and a report will be sent to the procurator fiscal.

About 10.20am on Monday January 7, at Tesco in Oban, a woman’s purse was stolen from the bag packing area. Police are investigat­ing the incident.
