Ben Nevis Centre earns four-star status

-

Ben Nevis Visitor Centre is celebrating having been awarded four-star visitor attraction status following a recent quality assurance grading visit from VisitScotland.

The centre underwent major refurbishment during 2017, including updated interpretation and a reconfiguration of the internal space with the layout significantly improved for arriving visitors and incorporating an improved retail area.

The visitor centre has touch screen facts and quizzes and short films to be enjoyed. These cover a range of topics from local history to the pioneers of Ben Nevis, the Gaelic language and the landscape within the Highlands and Glen Nevis.

It is not just the new space and layout that contributed to the award, however, with staff hospitality and friendliness being scored as exceptional during the visit.

Ian Murray chief executive of High Life Highland said: ‘I am delighted that the Ben Nevis Visitor Centre has achieved four stars status with VisitScotland, it proves that the recent capital investment by The Highland Council has been worthwhile and successful.

‘I am particularly pleased that our staff members have been recognised as part of the report for looking after customers and providing excellent customer service. The visitor centre team has worked hard to ensure we reach the standard expected of a four-star award.’
