Nevis Partnership taps into contactless donations
With the Nevis Landscape Partnership (NLP) once again supporting the Fort William Mountain Festival this year, The Nevis Partnership is pioneering new ways to capture donations using contactless payment technology.
Ben and Glen Nevis are at the centre of mountain culture in Fort William, with more than 160,000 people walking up the Ben Nevis mountain path in 2018 and an estimated 300,000 people visiting the glen each year.
In order for the team to continue maintaining the paths, improving visitor facilities, conserving habitats and ecosystems for wildlife and planting trees, they need as much support as possible, especially as they operate without any statutory funding.
The Nevis Partnership has paired up with charity technology specialists GoodBox to collect donations through contactless technology. As fewer and fewer people carry cash, this new technology is increasingly important for charities to collect donations.
So, where can people ‘tap’ to show their support? Visit The Nevis Partnership team at the film festival exhibition zone in the Nevis Centre from the Thursday until Sunday evening where a ‘tap’, can sponsor a tree, pick up a t-shirt or 2019 calendar, and can get a copy of their latest book on the North Face Survey project.
People can also ‘tap’ on the door of ‘The North Face Survey’ book launch on Friday February 22 where a suggested donation of £5 per ticket will get 10 per cent off a copy of the book. The launch takes place at West Highland College UHI from 4-6pm. Following the festival, the GoodBox device will be in the Ben Nevis Visitor Centre until March 8.
