Fundraiser for couple who lost everything

-

The community of Lismore hosted a fundraising night for a couple who lost everything in a fire.

Teenie Wilson and her husband David, who run the Lismore post office and shop, were left with just ‘the clothes they stood up in’ after the fire gutted their home of 25 years in January. The fundraiser took place on February 16.

‘The evening was very successful with a lot of money raised for David and Teenie,’ organiser Paul Speakman said.

Funds were raised through donations of both money and things to be raffled. Mr Speakman added: ‘People and local companies donated things like a free holiday in Devon, an overnight stay at the Pier House in Appin and original artwork by Ted Odlin.’ David and Teenie said: ‘We really cannot find the words to express our gratitude.’
