Oban Rotary backs charity
The Rotary Club of Oban, in line with its support for a variety of good causes, recently donated part of the funds raised at its very successful annual Christmas carol concert to Homestart, a charity which supports young families encountering problems raising children under five.
Homestart offers support, through volunteers, to young parents throughout North Lorn and Mull who find it difficult to cope for a number of reasons – including illness or disability, post-natal problems, relationship breakdowns, bereavement or financial issues.
Oban Rotary, along with its financial support to Oban Young Carers Initiative – £12,000 over three years – regards Homestart as hugely beneficial to the welfare of the community.
