Balance for better

-

‘Balance for Better’ is this year’s theme for International Women’s Day. A day celebrated across the world on 8 March to acknowledge the many achievements of women and to take action to forge a more gender balanced world.

Gloria Steinem, journalist, feminist and activist stated that “the story of women’s struggle for equality belongs to no single feminist nor to any one organisation but to the collective efforts of all who care about human rights.”

For our communities to thrive, we need a more gender balanced society. Wherever we live and work our actions matter. We can make the balance better for the next generation of young women. Maybe you could make your organisation and your board of directors more gender balanced?

Lochaber Women’s Aid are staging a display in Caol Library from 1st to 11th March which celebrates the women who took action to make a balance for better. So, if you would like to know more about pioneering women you can visit our display in Caol Library.

You can also come along to our coffee morning between 10am-1pm on 8th March at Lochaber Women’s Aid premises and find out what you can do to help our cause and make a balance for better.
