Shiver me timbers!

I am in awe of Stacey McGowan Holloway and like-minded people.

Stacey is, as readers of last week’s Oban Times will know, the young lady who has set up an open-water swimming group in Oban along with her husband Max.

To make sure none of you good people misunderstands, Stacey swims in the icy outdoors without the benefit of a wetsuit or other protective gear.

I know a number of people who are keen champions of the benefits – and I’m sure there must be some – of swimming in freezing water but let me assure you I am not about to find out first-hand any time soon what they might be.
