BJJ and MMA

Oban MMA continues to prepare students for the West of Scotland BJJ open, with extra rounds and practice for those involved.

Club members recently enjoyed a seminar with higher level MMA student of the year Cameron Donnelly. Cammy has recently returned from learning under respected coaches John Danahar and MMA ‘royalty’ George St Pierre. Cammy took time with everyone, showing the small details in attacking the back and finishing chokes. The well-attended seminar was well received and Cammy will be back in Oban teaching again soon.

The MMA side of the class has been concentrating on setting up take downs from punching and improving timing and reaction times. The specific drilling and controlled sparring seems to be helping everyone improve as they try to build a solid foundation of basics.
