Headline acts line up for Killin Music Festival
The full line-up for the Killin Music Festival has been announced and will feature some of the most exciting traditional music bands around including headliners Trail West, Elephant Sessions and Siobhan Miller.
Tickets are now on sale for the event which takes place from Friday, June 14 to Sunday, June 19.
As well as traditional music, this year’s festival sees some different bands on the bill, including jazz phenomenon Tom McGuire and the Brassholes and young indie band The 101.
There will again be music in the free session tent from Headland, Dlù and Greig Taylor, as well as some younger musicians from the local area.
Prior to the main event in June, Killin Music Festival will be hosting a Spring Concert in the McLaren Hall on Saturday, March 23 with music from west coast band Heron Valley.
The energetic folk sextet were a huge hit at Killin Music Festival 2017 and have just released a new single, Take You There.
The band have serious enthusiasm for the music they play with their roots lying in Scottish and Irish traditional music, while taking influence from various Folk, Country and Bluegrass styles.
The six-piece, energy-fuelled group comprises: Alex Mackechnie - Fiddle/ Accordion/Guitar; Nick Hamilton - Drums/Banjo; Abigail Pryde - Vocals / Guitar; Euan McNab Bagpipes/Whistles/Guitar; Arlene Mackechnie - Piano; Callum Cronin - Bass Guitar.
Support in the first half will come from the fantastic Canny Band, hot off their win at The Battle of The Folk bands at Celtic Connections.
McLaren High School Pipe Band will open the concert after a fantastic performance at the 2019 Scottish Schools Pipe Band Championships.
