It’s showtime for Fran and Anna
Fundraisers for North Argyll Carers Centre are using a touch of nostalgia to help them sell lucky leaflets at this year’s summer shows.
Ali Martin and Mairi Fleck will be dressing up as twin sisters Fran and Anna from Thingummyjig – one of STV’s most-watched music shows in the 1970s and 1980s.
The pair got such attention when they dressed up as the ginger duo at a kiltwalk last year that they decided to don the wigs and tartan again.
Generous businesses have been donating great prizes to be won at each of the shows Fran and Anna will be attending, starting off with Bunessan Show in Mull on
Friday August 2.
Prizes include bed and breakfast and afternoon tea at Barcaldine Castle; dinner, bed and breakfast at Tobermory’s Western Isles Hotel; afternoon teas at the Loch Melfort Hotel and Airds Hotel at Port Appin, then a two-night stay in a luxury yurt at Ardtun on Mull.
The other shows the ladies will be attending are the Lorn Show on Saturday August 3, Salen Show on Mull on Thursday August 8 and Appin Show on Saturday August 17.
Prize-winners will be announced at the end of each show.
