View from the Chamber
Tourism businesses in Lochaber and throughout the Highlands are being urged not to miss the Lochaber Tourism Summit 2019 at the Kingshouse Hotel, Glencoe, on Thursday November 21.
It is a highlight of Lochaber Ideas Week, a series of inspiring business events created specifically for the business community in the Lochaber area by Lochaber Chamber of Commerce.
Frazer Coupland, CEO of Lochaber Chamber of Commerce, said it would be the ‘premiere’ tourism business event.
‘In these uncertain times, when tourism businesses across the region face increasingly tough challenges, attendees will gain essential insights to unlock the huge potential of their businesses in an ever-increasing digital world and to capitalise on every opportunity arising in 2020 and beyond,’ added Mr Coupland.
The 2019 tourism summit, sponsored by HWEnergy, will see keynote speakers Cat Leaver, the director of newly created Brand Scotland, and Stephen Leckie, the visionary chief executive officer (CEO) behind the hugely successful Crieff Hydro Family of Hotels and the chairman of the Scottish Tourism Alliance, looking to empower, inspire and inform delegates with innovative and progressive business and digital marketing strategies, partnership opportunities, industry visions and future trends and best practice.
With Fort William being a world-renowned mountain bike destination, Mike Dennison from Sustrans will also be discussing the huge opportunities for cycle tourism in the region and how businesses can fully benefit.
The event is also about the importance of embracing digital marketing.
The fantastic homegrown social media influencer and professional mountain biker, Hannah Barnes, together with her partner, renowned content-creator Brodie Hood, will reveal the secrets of an effective social media strategy to connect and engage with target visitors, together with the best content in which to showcase Lochaber as a destination and its memorable and unique experiences.
The tourism summit is guaranteed to be an amazing day and all for just £30, including lunch.
Delegates will even have the opportunity to start the day off with a bit of yoga.
