October 1: The annual show and sale of suckled calves took place at Oban Livestock Centre - 759 head was sold. Bullocks sold to average £546.57 or 202.5 pence per kilo (£16 per head or -17.3 pence per kilo). Heifers levelled out at £490.72 per head or 188.6 pence per kilo (+ £17.70 per head and - 1.5 pence per kilo). Mr Anderson, Nether Falla, Peebles judged the various show classes and his awards were as follows: Bullock Calf: 1 and reserve Overall D MacDonald, Tyree. 2 M/s Troughton, Ardachy. 3 Mr Buchanan, Shenavallie.
