Well discussion folks, with after our months member of planning businesses, and Ideas Week 2019 is almost here! We hope that everyone from the business and wider community will find events to inspire us all and get us thinking. Ideas Week is a time for us to come together – to explore ideas, have great conversati­ons, find out more and take some time to reflect and plan for the future. It’s also a really fun week with something for everyone. Many events are free, and our paid-for-events offer fantastic value for money. You don’t need to be a member of the Chamber of Commerce to come along to events, and you don’t need to be in business! If it appeals to you, come along – we’d love to see you there! We’ve got inspiratio­nal training seminars that will help everyone in their work… and life. Whether you want to think creatively about what you do and how to approach work differentl­y; build strong teams and harness the power of small changes to create big results, to discoverin­g practical and plain-speaking strategies for achieving your goals – Ideas Week has got you covered! There’s huge potential for business networking throughout the week – our informal and effective ‘Around Lochaber in 80 Tables’ networking event is a simple and fun way to get your business known locally and make valuable personal connection­s; plus, of course, all events include ample time for the all-important mingling. On Monday 18th we’re celebratin­g sporting achievemen­t and determinat­ion with Russell Jones, who’s gone from shinty star to extreme ultra-long-distance cyclist. Russell is a great storytelle­r with some amazing tales from the saddle to share with us all. Don’t miss Question Time on Tuesday 19th when it’s your chance to ask important we’re Steel to delighted deliver questions this to welcome year’s and, of Charles Lord course, David Kennedy Lecture on Wednesday 20th. I’ve been involved with Ideas Week since the very start and now as CEO of Lochaber Chamber, I’m thrilled that it continues to grow in range of events, quality, prestige and numbers attending every year. I may be biased but I’m very proud of the dynamic, inspiratio­nal and topical programme of events we’ve put together for the benefit of our community. So, if you haven’t been before or if you’re a bit busy, or you don’t know if it’s for you – don’t worry about that, just give it a go! I guarantee you’ll get a lot out of it.
