‘Women in Business’ Networking Lunch

with guest speaker Sarah Heward of the Real Food Cafe, Tyndrum

-

Wednesday 20th November, noon-2pm, The Moorings Hotel

Come along to our first-ever ‘Women in Business’ lunch during Lochaber Ideas Week. Enjoy a relaxed lunch, meet fellow women in business and listen to the inspirational Sarah Heward as she reveals how she has gone from being almost bankrupt to creating a business with a turnover of more than £1.5 million. In 2005 Sarah gave up her job as managing director of a wine bar company in London and quit the ratrace to pursue her dream of opening her own business. Sarah will discuss the huge obstacles she faced and the valuable lessons learned along the way. Sarah moved to Tyndrum to open The Real Food Café, transforming a derelict Little Chef into an award-winning roadside diner. Famous for its award-winning fish and chips and homebaking, the cafe serves more than 200,000 people from all corners of the globe. In 2018 the café was listed in The Lonely Planet Guide, and took home a 'Free From' Eating Out Award for its gluten-free fish and chips and was shortlisted for the VisitScotland Thistle Awards “Best Eating Experience”, the Scottish Apprenticeship Award for “Best SME Employer” and ‘Walkers Café of the Year’ in Great Outdoors Magazine. Sarah herself was awarded the NatWest Everywoman Athena award in 2014, a prestigious award given to the most inspirational women in business. More recently, in 2018 she was named one of Woman & Home magazine’s '50 over 50' inspirational women. We’re delighted to welcome Sarah along to speak during Lochaber Ideas Week. Tickets cost £10. Please book online, call us or pop into the office at 15 High Street to book your ticket today!
