Cafés bring New Hope to Oban

-

Hope Kitchen’s ‘New Hope’ community café opens its doors again on Wednesday April 28.

Opening from 11.30am to 2pm, Monday to Friday, with lunch served from noon until 1.15pm, everyone from the community is welcome. Payment for food is based on donations with people giving what they can.

‘At New Hope the soup is always homemade and tea and coffee is in constant supply. Families and children are welcome too. If you haven’t visited New Hope before then please do,’ said service manager Catriona Petit.

New Hope’s Café afternoons from 2pm to 3.30pm will also be starting up again from Monday May 3.

Mondays will be a Fellowship Café, a Christian-based group open to people of all faiths and no faith.

On Tuesdays there will be a Craft and Knitting Café, on Wednesdays it will be a Homestart-run café for parents or carers of young children and babies, Thursdays will see a Wellbeing Café for anyone who wants to come and share ideas about how to improve emotional health and on Fridays the Music Café meets.

In addition, on a Thursday at 10am there is a Recovery Café open to anyone in recovery from alcohol or substance misuse.

From May 10, the café will also be providing two evening meals a week on a Tuesday and Friday at 5pm.

Catriona added: ‘Green Shoots is also run by Hope Kitchen and that is open too. If you would like to get involved in the community garden, please let Hope Kitchen know.’
