Join in the BIG Spring Clean

-

Fort William Town Team is urging Lochaber communities to clean up their own patches this weekend.

Members of the award-winning charitable organisation will be out in Fort William on Sunday April 25 for the 2021 BIG Spring Clean and while they are in town they thought it would be a good opportunity to work together as a community and do the same in other areas of Lochaber during the afternoon.

From 1pm, the group will be litter picking and tidying Fort William High Street, The Parade, the Promenade and the areas in between.

Town team secretary Karen

Dean said: ‘Whether you are an individual, community group or business, we can achieve so much more together.

‘We would like to encourage people to take part in their own area whether it’s cleaning around people’s own homes, play parks, beaches or any other areas needing a little attention.

Areas

‘It doesn’t have to take long and people could do the smallest of areas.

‘Everything helps. Not only is it good for the environment, but hopefully it builds community spirit, showing we all care about where we live.’

To help keep the tasks

Covid compliant, volunteers are being asked to follow the latest advice from the Scottish Government and Public Health Scotland.

‘If you feel you would like to get involved please pop the date in your diary and publicise the event in your area,’ added Karen.

‘Let’s all work together to love and look after Lochaber.’

Volunteers looking to help in Fort William should head to the Town Team Hub in the Parade from 1pm.

Equipment will be available to borrow, but using your own is recommended.

Sanitiser, wipes will be available. and gloves
