VIEW FROM THE CHAMBER

-

At Lochaber Chamber of Commerce we work hard to provide business events on the issues that really matter to our members – there’s always something helpful for our members in our events calendar.

This week we had a timely look at the issues facing businesses as they navigate the new normal of work in the Covid era. We were pleased to share expert insights from the employment law team at Harpers MacLeod LLP and it certainly helped us think through the issues to be aware of when dealing with hybrid/home working, the ethics of workplace testing and vaccination requirements.

While the Scottish Government’s advice continues to be ‘work from home where possible’, many of us are returning to workplaces. This week’s seminar was a great opportunity for our members to access free expert information on how best to approach the ‘new employment normal’.

Next week we present another very timely member event, when we urge businesses to ‘protect your business from online threats’ on Tuesday November 2.

Online scams are getting more and more sophisticated and are increasingly targeting businesses of all sizes, across all sectors. It’s time to make sure you’re protected.

Are you sure that you’re taking the right steps to protect yourself and your business finances and information? Come along to our interactive webinar to find out more about what steps to take to feel safer in the online business world.

Graeme Bass and Bex Griggs from member business Marsh Commercial will guide us through a discussion of cyber exposures, common misconceptions and solutions. There will also be plenty of time to ask questions, and follow-up resources will be provided.
