Chip in to help Harry’s world championship challenge

-

Following his multiple trophy successes in the National Junior Golfers Flag events last year, nine-year-old Harry Stewart from Riverside, Caol, has been invited to take part in the ‘Champion of Champions’ World Champion event, writes Iain Ferguson.

Starting on Monday July 25, Harry, right, will meet with and play against the best young golfers the world has to offer in his age group on the internationally renowned Castlehume and Lough Earne courses at the five-star Lough Earne Resort near Eniskillen in Northern Ireland.

While being invited to take part is a tremendous honour and tribute to Harry’s skill, he still has to fund the trip and is seeking sponsorship.

Responding to an appeal on social media, several individuals and companies have already ‘chipped’ in to help, but more assistance would be welcome. Harry’s dad John said: ‘His mum and I are unbelievably proud of Harry. He puts a lot of time and effort into his practise. It’s great to get the rewards of playing in big competitions but the World Championship is on another level. He’s done great to even qualify by winning the Junior Golf Scotland Tour in 2021. As long as he keeps enjoying it, we will support him 100 per cent.’

Sponsors can also put their support behind Harry by making a donation. Information can be obtained either from John’s Facebook page or by emailing him on j_stewart11@hotmail.com.
