No ‘faffing’ for runners on Green Gates course
Lochaber athletes braved the storm on Sunday continue with their winter cross country league.
A total of 45 runners turned out at the Green Gates course to tackle the Fassfern Faff. There were lots of smiles at the end of the tough undulating to course. Whether they were inspired by joy or relief is known only by the competitors. Lochaber Athletics Club (LAC) commended its volunteer marshals for keeping everyone safe and encouraging the runners on their way. Results: Top three males: 1 Brian Sharp, unattached, 1:09:02; 2 Alan Ross (LAC), 1:12:19; 3 Matt MacDonald (LAC), 1:14:48. Top three females: 1 Caroline Marwick, Highland Hill Runners (HHR), 1:24:39; 2 Hannah Ward-Penny (HHR), 1:27:27; 3 Amanda Blackhall (LAC), 1:28:48.
