Valentine’s Day is approaching at a rate of knots and for those of a romantic persuasion, now is the time to get planning and not leave it until the last minute as everyone usually does.

We’re lucky in Oban to have a range of fantastic restaurants and bars which will be catering for Valentine’s Day with special menus and glasses of prosecco follow Love Oban Local on Facebook and we’ll keep you up to date with what’s happening.

If a gift or flowers is what you would rather give (or receive) then now is the time to start looking round the shops or dropping hints about what you would like to receive, again we have no shortage of lovely jewellery or gift shops to choose from as well as three great florists who can help you to ‘say it with flowers’.

If none of these ideas appeal then there’s always the gift of a massage or visit to a beautician or hairdresser, or perhaps an afternoon tea somewhere cosy is more up your street.

The ideas are endless, which can be part of the problem, if you’re stuck then LoveOban Vouchers are the perfect gift, your loved one can please themselves with any of the ideas above or something you’ve not even thought of, which lets you off the hook for not having thought of it in the first place.

Not being in a relationship is not a reason to ignore Valentine’s Day either, loving yourself is the most important thing of all, so treat yourself to something you love, you’re worth it.

Last week’s photograph was of the fabulous David Evans.
