Library is potty about Harry

-

Are you ‘Sirius’? Yes, it really is 25 years since the first Harry Pottery book came out, writes Kathie Griffiths.

This week the quarter century was celebrated by Oban Library which hosted a Harry Potter book night with props including wands and an invisibility cloak to try out, games to play and wizardy crafts for young fans to make.

Eva Sage, nine, from Barcaldine, was just one of the youngsters who turned up to join in the fun.

The first of the Potter tales to be published was Harry Potter and The Philosopher’s Stone. There are now seven books in all, written by JK Rowling.

There was plenty of fun to be had at Oban Library last Thursday evening when youngsters joined librarians for a magical evening of Harry Potterthemed events, with the library offering the new Harry Potter book – A Magical Year – as a prize draw.
