The Isuzu D-Max has been named Pick-up of the Year for 2022 by the industry specialists at Company Car & Van magazine. The award was presented recently at the headquarters of Isuzu UK, which is based near Solihull in Birmingham.

Now in its 12th year, Company Car and Van is a motoring magazine and website specifically aimed at the managers of small to medium fleets of less than 100 units and company directors who, along with their employees, have the scope to make their own purchasing decisions and directly influence the make-up of their company’s vehicle fleet.

Andrew Walker, Editor and Publisher of Company Car & Van said: “Whilst other pick-up manufacturers have shied away from the sector, Isuzu are to be congratulated on not only launching a new model but a massively improved one to boot. This new D-Max not only looks & drives better than before, it now features class-leading safety, on-trend tech, a far better passenger experience & also does most of what a pick-up is supposed to do. Furthermore, the amount of choice across a range of single, extended & double cab models, means that there's a D-Max priced for everyone.”

On receiving the award, Alan Able, Brand Director, Isuzu UK said: “We are delighted to accept this award from the experts at Company Car & Van and it is a great start to 2022. The Isuzu D-Max is currently the only pick-up in the UK with a five-star Euro NCAP safety rating, thanks to its class-leading safety technology. This, along with the improved off-road ability, on-road ride quality and more SUV-like features have meant that the new generation Isuzu D-Max has been a real hit with customers in both the retail and fleet markets.”

The Isuzu D-Max range caters for every need and is available in single, extended or double cab body styles. The business aimed Utility specification features wipe-clean vinyl floor covering, hard-wearing cloth upholstery and automatic headlights & windscreen wipers. The DL20 specification adds items such as heated front seats, rear parking sensors and 18-inch silver alloy wheels. Moving towards the All-Purpose and Adventure models, the DL40 features even more SUV-like specifications such as a keyless entry & push-button start system, dual-zone climate control, leather interior and a reversing camera, along with a seven-inch multimedia system that includes Apple CarPlay & Android Auto compatibility. The range is topped by the best-selling V-Cross model which adds a nine-inch multimedia system along with an eight-speaker sound system and distinctive gun-metal grey exterior styling elements.
