Seil community cinema screening

-

Seil Island Hall is trialling a community cinema.

James Bond and children's favourites Tom and Jerry have already been screened on the island as part of the project.

The next movie night at the hall will be The Last Bus, starring Timothy Spalding.

The bar will open at 6.30pm tomorrow, February 25, with the film starting at 7.30pm.

The plot is a heart-warming tale of pensioner Tom, Timothy Spall's character, whose wife Mary has just died. Tom travels from Britain's most northerly point at John O'Groats to his original home town at Land's End, using his free bus pass. He carries with him only a small suitcase, travelling the length of the country with it. Along the way, his adventures are recorded by the people he meets and helps and by the end of his trip, he has unwittingly become a social media celebrity. Most of the film was shot in Scotland.

Tickets are £8 and available from Balvicar Stores or on the door, subject to availability, said one of the organisers Rachel Stroud. There will be a card reader at the event.
