Laughter is the best medicine at Argyll Wellbeing Hub

-

Argyll Wellbeing Hub is hoping to raise a lorra lorra laughs on Friday March 25 in order to make a lorra lorra lolly for the charity.

The Oban-based mental health support and suicide prevention group will be hosting a comedy night at The View with Edinburgh Festival headliner Gary Little just one of the names on a packed bill.

Service coordinator Des MacMillan said: 'Due to Covid, we had to stop all our in-person fundraising so this is our first big local event and we are really hoping for a good turnout and to raise some funds for the charity.

'We have 100 tickets available and already some amazing raffle prizes from lots of local businesses including cafes, Oban Distillery, Chalmers and we even have a free piercing as a prize!'

As well as Gary the line-up includes Wray Thomson from Aberdeen, who set up a men's mental health charity there called Man Chat following his own battle with mental health.

'We have a few local acts on the bill as well,' added Des, 'some who may surprise folk and some who are performing for the first time. It should be a great night.'

Tickets are currently on sale at the Hub on Breadalbane Street and in The View, George Street and Eventbrite.
