Braving the waves to take a dook for Women’s Aid
Open water swimmers at Ganavan will be marking International Women’s Day this year by taking a dip for Argyll and Bute Women’s Aid. The meet-up is at 10am on Saturday March 12, although International Women’s Day was on Tuesday March 8.
Event organiser Jakki Spicer said: ‘We’re having this dook and a wee gathering at Ganavan to support the charity for the work it does to keep women in our area safe.’ Those taking part hope to make £1,000. A Justgiving page has been set up at www. justgiving.com/fundraising/obaniwd.
People are invited to go along on Saturday
March 12 to join in the swim, or just have a dip or a bob says Jakki, or you can support the swimmers by making a donation.
Charity Argyll and Bute’s Women’s Aid provides information and support to women and children and young people living with domestic abuse.
