Fort’s former bus and train stations from 1973

-

This week’s glimpse back in time from the archives at High Life Highland’s Am Baile website is a photograph of the former railway station, bus station and MacBrayne’s garage in Fort William from 1973.

High Life Highland’s Am Baile website is where you’ll discover historic images and audio visual content covering the whole of the Highlands and Islands. New content is added every week. The next set of High Life Highland’s Family History for Beginners classes started in March on Zoom.

The four classes cover subjects including statutory births, marriages and deaths; census records; church records, wills, memorial inscriptions and other useful records.

During each session, a family historian will share a power point presentation, introducing relevant websites with plenty time for questions. The cost is £40 – £32 concession – for the four weeks.

Anyone interested in joining future classes should email genealogy@highlifehighland.com or visit the website at highlifehighland.myshopify.com/collections/ archives-1/products/archives-classes.
