WHO IS THIS?

Things are definitely hotting up events-wise and I now have to choose between events as they are coming thick and fast. It’s been such a long time that the temptation is to try and go to everything.

I thoroughly enjoyed the Oban Pride Quiz in the Masonic Lodge on Saturday night, especially the rock ‘n’ roll bingo – that was a first for me but really good fun.

A good quiz is one of my favourite things and I’m spoilt for choice as Hope Kitchen have a fundraiser in Glencruitten Golf Club this Saturday and the following Friday (25th) is the return of the much-missed ABCD quiz in The Royal Hotel, with quiz master extraordinaire, Tony Cave.

This Saturday is a dilemma, though, as there is also a whole weekend of live music in the Palace Hotel, raising funds for Scottish Charity Air Ambulance on Friday and Saturday night from 10pm, so I should manage to fit everything in.

It promises to be an interesting event with music from a duo called Euphoric, one of whom was an X Factor finalist in Bulgaria.

These are only a few of the things coming up at the moment, as well as all the regular quizzes in Markie Dans and The Lorne, and live music in some of the pubs, like The Clarry, The Oban Inn and Markie Dans.

To keep up to date with everything have a look at the LoveOban Local Facebook page and Oban Town Diary Facebook page, plus online go to Oban What’s On and we’ll do our best to keep you up to date.

Last week’s photograph was of Grant Nicholson who knows everyone and this week you get two for the price of one.
