Sporting brilliance

I have been chuffed to bits over the past few weeks to see Oban’s Magnus Bradbury back in the limelight, starring for Scotland during this year’s Six Nations championship.

Magnus has been making a significant contribution to the Scotland rugby cause this year, including in Saturday’s win in Rome against Italy. Hopefully, he will star again this coming weekend against the Irish in Dublin.

News emerged the other day, too, that Magnus is moving from Edinburgh to join Bristol Bears in England’s Premiership. I hope sincerely the transfer is a successful one for him, but he is such a quality player that I have no doubt it will go well.

His charming mum, Dee, a history-maker herself on the world rugby scene, must be so proud, and rightly so.

Well done, Magnus, and I hope even greater days are ahead.
