Charities day returns to Oban

-

Oban Charities Day is returning after two years.

The event, run by Oban & Lorn Lions Club, will take place on Saturday June 4 and will include a street fair and parade from noon until 4pm.

Oban Pipe Band will lead the parade and organisers want to hear from groups, clubs or organisations wishing to take part.

Interested? Email obanandlornlionsclub@gmail. com for an application form or message its Facebook page. Paper copies can also be picked up from the BID4Oban office, Monday to Friday, 9am to 1pm.

The theme for this year is the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee, with the parade leaving Corran Halls at 1pm.

Prizes will be presented to the best in parade and to the best-dressed stall.

In a message to charities, Lions Club president Jim Edge said: ‘It’s your day so please get in touch with us and get involved. For many groups and smaller charities local to our area this is their biggest fundraiser of the year so let’s make it a great day.’

The Lions would also like to hear from volunteers willing to lend a hand on the day.

More than 40 organisations took part in Charities Day 2019.
