The Oban Times

WHO IS THIS?

- editor@obantimes.co.uk KAY MCDONALD

It was amazing to see Oban come to life last weekend with live music, quizzes and a beer festival.

Add in lots of sunshine and it was a recipe for a great weekend.

This weekend sees more of the same with Argyll Beats Cardiovascular Disease hosting the big quiz in the Royal Hotel on Friday night. It’s always a great night with a fantastic raffle and if you have any energy left after that there are a variety of places you can go to enjoy some good music.

I’ve just had posters handed into the office advertising an Old Oban Slideshow by Bob McCulloch on Saturday April 2, run by the Inner Wheel in aid of Argyll Wellbeing Hub.

I’m really looking forward to that and they promised cake too! I’ll be finishing off the day at a beetle drive in Benderloch in aid of Riding for the Disabled. My social diary is starting to fill up really quickly.

It definitely feels as if spring is with us now and the sunshine is making everyone buzz about planning for the weeks and months ahead. So if you have an event you would like to share with everyone, please don’t forget to let us know and we’ll help you get it out there.

On Facebook, we have Love Oban Local, LoveOban and Oban Town Diary and online we have Oban What’s On. If you’re not on social media, give us a call on 01631 569915 or hand a poster into the BID4Oban office on Stevenson Street and we’ll do it all for you.

Did you recognise Archie and Donna MacCulloch from Roxy’s last week? This week’s photograph is another well-kent face.
