School book box boost
Businesses have helped deliver boxes of new books to 12 schools in Oban and Lorn.
Jennifer Kelly, who owns Rose’s Reads as an Usbourne books business, organised a community fundraiser to get more books into schools.
Nineteen businesses and three members of the public sponsored boxes of 50 books for £40. Schools that benefited included Park, Rockfield and St Columba primary schools in Oban as well as Dunbeg, Lochnell, Easdale, Taynuilt, Barcaldine, Strath of Appin, Kilninver, Lismore and Dalmally primaries.
‘The response from schools has been fantastic and they are all very grateful,’ said Jennifer.
