Oban Celtic release two MacMillan brothers

Oban Celtic has taken the decision to release first team players Ross MacMillan and Craig MacMillan.

Both were fixtures in the senior team but a frank exchange of views at training last week led to the club deciding both players will no longer feature in the side.

The incident prompted unfounded rumours that boss Dougie MacIntyre had stepped down as Oban Celtic first team manager but they are untrue and he remains committed to the club.

Meantime Stephen Campbell has joined Dougie MacIntyre and Allan Duffy in the senior Oban Celtic set-up and he will be involved with the coaching.

Oban Celtic were also successful with a funding application to the Oban Common Good Fund for youth shinty, including equipment.

The Oban Celtic first team have a re-arranged Mowi National Division match against Inveraray at Ganavan this Saturday, whilst the seconds are off to Kilmory.
