Trad music students ready to livestream Easter concert

-

Sgoil Chiùil na Gàidhealteachd - The National Centre of Excellence in Traditional Music based at Plockton High School - is to livestream its Easter gig by sixth-year students.

The concert will be live streamed to Facebook and YouTube on Saturday March 26 .

Current Covid restrictions still prevent the centre from having a live audience on the premises, or from taking the students out to perform elsewhere.

Centre director Dougie Pincock told the Lochaber Times: ‘Consequently, our usual S6 Easter tour has not been possible this year. However, the students have been making music, as they always do, and we’re delighted to be able to share their efforts with you.’

The performers will be Calum MacKinnon, drums, percussion, piano; Jamie Clarke, fiddle, piano; Kathleen MacDonald, fiddle, vocals; Rachel Henderson, fiddle, vocals; Rae MacIver, piano, vocals, fiddle; Rianna Muir, fiddle, vocals, and Seoras Chlad, guitar.

The concert will take place at 7pm. The joining link for the YouTube stream will appear on the centre’s Facebook page and website, www. musicplockton.org, two or three days before the event.
