Reconnecting with Scotland
Hundreds of Scottish tourism businesses will connect with tour operators and travel agents from around the world at a new travel trade event in April.
Discover Scotland 2022 will for the first time this year combine an online business-to-business event, known as Discover Scotland: Reconnect 2022 taking place on April 5-7 with a series of in-person showcases in May and September.
The virtual event will enable Scottish businesses to connect with key buyers from around the globe to help attract visitors, from near and far, to Scotland and help rebuild Scotland’s valuable tourism industry.
A total of 327 tourism operators from across Scotland are due to attend the virtual event in April, to connect with 320 international delegates through one-to-one meetings, panel sessions and virtual networking. Fourteen business and operators from Argyll and Isles, Helensburgh, Loch Lomond and Dunbartonshire are attending.
David Adams McGilp, regional director at VisitScotland, said: ‘The tourism industry in Argyll and Isles, Helensburgh, Loch Lomond and Dunbartonshire has shown strength, resilience and innovation as businesses and operators strive to navigate an unprecedented and ever-changing situation and we are looking forward to connecting with colleagues new and old.’
Stuart Cordner, managing director at Cruise Loch Lomond, said: ‘As the tourism sector recovers from the disaster of the last two years, the Discover Scotland event gives Cruise Loch Lomond the opportunity to meet with tour operators and clients.’
