Grass fire blazes near Nant Drive

-

Fire crews fought to extinguish a grass fire near Oban’s Nant Drive on Saturday night, writes Kathie Griffiths.

Scottish Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS) was alerted to reports of a grass fire in open ground at 6.18pm on April 2.

An eyewitness said: ‘With the direction of the wind and the hard work of the fire crews they managed to contain the fire and prevent it heading for the houses.’

Four fire engines were sent out said a SFRS spokesperson adding: ‘Firefighters extinguished the fire and crews left after ensuring the area was made safe.’
