Mail delays impact health

It was disappointing to hear this week that Royal Mail has not solved its long-standing staffing issues in Oban and that residents in some areas of the town continue to suffer long delays in receiving their mail.

But it is particularly worrying that people continue to miss hospital appointments due to the issue. Not only does this add stress to people already feeling anxious, but adds pressure to our health service and its staff who are having to cope with missed appointments with no time to have these filled by other waiting patients.

However it’s good to hear new postmen and women are expected to start work in the local area. Let us hope it is soon.
