Bakery hosts island’s latest defibrillator

-

Mull has a new addition to its network of public defibrillators.

Thanks to Island Bakery Organics the total number of defibrillators across Mull and Iona that are accessible to the public now comes to 33.

The bakery is hosting the lifesaving kit on a wall at the entrance to its car park on the road out of Tobermory to Dervaig.

Joe Reade and Cathy Mellor will be taking care of the defibrillator and carrying out regular checks on it.

Cathy said: ‘We’re happy to help the community. We also have 30 members of staff working in the bakery and just like anyone else, you never know when it might be needed. It brings the total of public defibrillators to 33 but Mull is a big place, we do need more.’

Mull and Iona Community Trust would like to hear from anyone interested in making a donation towards the running cost of a defibrillator or wanting to find out more about what is involved in hosting one. Interested? Contact mfinch@mict.co.uk.
