Oban, you are amazing

We continue to be in awe of everyone who selflessly gives of their time and talents for the good of others, not only within our communities, but further afield.

This week Dirk Campbell and Willie Bonniwell, or Willie Flit as he’s better known, were preparing to head back over to Ukraine with more vital aid collected in Oban and the surrounding communities.

As well as taking out medical supplies, military boots and food, Willie, who owns Flit Self Drive, is donating one of his vans, leaving it with a despatch centre out there which desperately needs more vehicles to take aid to where it is needed.

Meanwhile Shauna Mackenzie, who started up the Oban Helps Ukraine appeal online, told us she is taking daily delivery of items from businesses in Oban and UK-wide to send out to those in need. We wish Dirk and Willie a safe trip.
