Overnight A86 roadworks near Loch Laggan

-

A second phase of overnight road closures required on the A86 west of the Lochaber boundary has been rescheduled.

The work was due to get under way on March 29 for three nights, however, due to inclement weather it was put back.

Subject to weather conditions, surfacing work west of the Lochaber boundary will now start on Sunday May 1 and is expected to be completed by Wednesday May 4.

Traffic management will be the same as originally programmed, with a full road closure between 8pm and 6am to allow the works to be carried out safely. As there is no suitable diversion route, amnesties will be provided at 9pm, 10pm, 11pm, midnight, 2am and 4am each night. During these times, vehicles will be escorted through the site under a 10mph convoy. Road users are encouraged to arrive in good time to ensure they can be let through. Outwith working hours, and to keep disruption to a minimum, a speed restriction of 30mph will be in place on the A86 as traffic will be running over a temporary surface.
