second half, Scott Robertson and Daniel Cameron came off in favour of Innes Jackson and Scott MacMillan with the latter’s hitting proving a real asset. Oban Camanachd added a third a minute after the hour when Louie MacFarlane’s ball over the top caused all sorts of problems and Daniel Madej took advantage to go one-onone with keeper Kevin Toye before finishing calmly.

Louie MacFarlane made it 4-0 on 71 minutes when Scott MacMillan’s hit-in saw Daniel Madej play the ball across the ‘D’ to MacFarlane who found the net. with the Mainland brothers – Craig and Martin – playing well, as did Lorne MacKay and Danny Kelly.

Newtonmore stay second in the Mowi Premiershi­p after eventually beating Caberfeidh 4-3 in an exciting 3pm throwup at the Eilan.

Newtonmore went into the game without defenders Rory Kennedy, Steven Macdonald, Darrin Fowler and Declan Brannan but started well with Max Campbell on six minutes and Fraser MacKintosh on 19 minutes giving them a 2-0 lead.

Caberfeidh fought back though with Craig Morrison striking on 30 and 34 minutes to make it 2-2.

Aaron MacBean put Newtonmore back in front on 36 minutes and they carried their 3-2 advantage into the break.

Kevin Bartlett netted on 57 minutes to draw Caberfeidh level again, but Max Campbell’s second goal of the match 15 minutes from time proved to be the winner.

The Skye colts agreed to a request from the Newtonmore colts to reverse their league meeting at the Eilan and the hosts ran out 2-1 winners.

Both teams were understren­gth. Newtonmore had Jamie Robinson in their side and he gave them the lead on 10 minutes. Youngster Brodie MacBean doubled the home side’s advantage on 33 minutes but Skye pulled a goal back as Angus Gilpin continued his scoring streak a minute short of the hour.

The sides will meet at Pairc nan Laoch, Portree, later in the season.
