Licence approved for return of Oban institution, The Mantrap
Licensing has been approved for Oban’s former Mantrap pub, which closed about 20 years ago, writes Kathie Griffiths.
Daniel MacIntyre of
The View said if all goes to plan with refurbishment work at 2 Argyll Street, the premises that were an Oban institution, could be up and running by the end of next month.
The Mantrap has been empty for a number of years, it has been used in more recent times by Hope Kitchen and as a cat cafe.
Mr MacIntyre who is leasing the premises said he will be investing about £40,000 in his new ground-floor venture. ‘Having an accessible space for the people who can’t face the 30 plus steps we have up to The View was a big driver for us!’ he said.
