Dance for VE Day
Put on your dancing shoes and get ready to do the jitterbug.
The Royal British Legion Scotland Easdale branch is organising a VE Day dance at Seil Island Hall on Sunday May 8.
The 1940s event is part of the branch’s centenary celebrations.
Organisers are hoping everyone will dress up from the wartime era and join in the fun.
Branch chairman Ron Hetherington said: ‘It is going to be a true community event, with dancing 1940s-style, led by locals Graham and Janet Scott to a music soundtrack provided by Stuart Abercrombie and Gary Hamilton of GH Productions.’

Singers will also be performing and leading a sing-along of the 1940s favourites.
Else Mellor has marshalled the catering team to supply an afternoon tea to rival that of London’s Savoy Hotel, said Ron.
And he added: ‘Add in a lucky ticket draw, a grand prize raffle, and a cash prize top secret game, plus the chance to dress up in ‘40s fashion, all for £5, and you will undoubtedly have the hottest ticket in town.’
Tickets are available Balvicar Stores or any Easdale branch member.
‘The branch would also like to extend its thanks to the local business that generously donated raffle prizes, the ladies of Seil for their culinary skills and to new legion members Iain and Emma Hill of Specialised Marine Support Ltd for their sponsorship for the event,’ said Ron. from Legion
