Single Team Club Competition – first round

Mowi South Division 1 side Bute knocked Mowi National Division opponents Aberdour out of the Macaulay, winning 5-0 at Silversands.

The islanders started well with Craig Fisher scoring after five minutes and Scott Harvey adding a second on 35 minutes.

Craig Fisher scored on 49 and 50 minutes to complete his hattrick with Scott Harvey getting his second on 51 minutes as Bute netted three times in three minutes.

The Inveraray juniors and the Kyles Athletic juniors brought their tie at the Winterton forward to Friday April 29 with a 7pm start.

The Inveraray seconds were without Craig Taylor who has a two-game ban but they took the lead when Ewan Donnan continued his fine scoring run with the opening goal on 12 minutes.

Kyles levelled on 52 minutes through Neil Nicholson's low shot on the angle but, with just seconds remaining, Ewan Donnan scored his sixth goal of the season, direct from a corner, to send Inveraray through and knock the holders out at the first time of asking.
