MSP Kate Forbes makes tracks for Spean Bridge
Safety issues and active travel were on the agenda when Skye, Lochaber and Badenoch MSP Kate Forbes got on her bike to visit Spean Bridge.
Kate was keen to see where the Connecting Spean Roy Area Scottish Charitable Incorporated Organisation (SCIO) hopes to establish an active travel track for safe non-motorised travel. One of the tracks might start outside Spean Bridge Primary School.
Ms Forbes also wanted to hear of safety concerns from residents, in particular the speed limit on the A86 between Spean Bridge and Roy Bridge and articulated truck trailers sweeping over a pavement in Spean Bridge, and the SCIO’s proposals to provide safe active travel on the A82 and A86.
‘I hear you loud and clear,’ was the MSP’s comment to SCIO trustee Keith Hoole. Ms Forbes agreed these issues should all be being dealt with by Transport Scotland.
The Connecting Spean Roy Area SCIO believes the points raised with its MSP are an example of partnership working towards safety and resilience on the transport network Transport
