Crafters delight as The Rural show returns to Corran Halls

-

More than 500 entries were competing for prizes at a Scottish Women’s Institute show in Oban on Saturday.

This was the SWI’s Argyll Federation show at the Corran Halls, making its comeback after Covid and being cancelled twice.

SWI Argyll’s president Brenda MacLeod said it was a successful day with top quality entries.

‘Judges came from Oban, Mull and Dumbarton and all of them commented on the standard of the work on show from baking, preserves, flower arrangements, sewing, knitting, art, photography and many other crafts.

‘Everyone was happy to be together again and there was a lot of catching up and laughter amid discussion about the judges’ decisions!’ she said, adding thanks to everyone who helped on the day especially the Corran Halls’ staff.

There was also a chance to buy craft materials from a stall run by SWI members on the day and the tearoom was run by Oban Cancer Research Committee to raise funds for its cause.
