Lochaber finished strongly with Ryan Toal on 77 minutes and Iain Fyfe’s brace on 78 and 85 rounding off a solid six-goal triumph.

Oban Celtic 8 Cruachanside 1 Oban Celtic strolled into the Balliemore Cup second round after beating Cruachanside 8-1 at Mossfield.

Craig MacDougall on four and nine minutes and Lennon Campbell on 14 and 15 minutes gave the Oban side a commanding lead.

Ewen Campbell netted on 18 minutes to make it 5-0 before Lennon Campbell completed his hat-trick on 23 minutes to put the Oban side out of sight.

Joe MacVicar added a seventh on 65 minutes and although Kyle MacFarlane pulled a goal back on 79 minutes, Lennon Campbell got his fourth goal of the afternoon on 84 minutes to round off the 8-1 victory.

This was Oban Celtic’s first victory of the season and although it was against lower league opposition, it was still a timely boost ahead of Saturday’s meeting with Mowi National Division title hopefuls Beauly in Oban.
