Charged

At 1am on Wednesday March 29, on the A85 near Dunbeg, a vehicle was stopped by officers on patrol on suspicion of driving without insurance or a valid MOT certificat­e. The driver, a 34-year-old male, was allegedly found to be impaired and was arrested after allegedly being found to be in possession of cannabis, cocaine and a knife when searched by officers. He was arrested, charged with the offences detailed and subsequent­ly released to appear in court at a later date. A report has been submitted to the procurator fiscal.

Cross bow injury

At 6.15pm on Thursday March 30, near Bridge of Orchy car park, police were called to a report of an injured deer that had been shot with a crossbow bolt. The deer had to be dispatched owing to the injury caused. Police are still investigat­ing and are appealing for any witnesses or anyone with any informatio­n to contact them on 101 or anonymousl­y through Crimestopp­ers on 0800 555 111, quoting reference LB00040423.

Held in custody

At 10pm on Friday March 31, at Oban Police Station, Oban, a man was arrested for allegedly failing to comply with court conditions to sign on at the police station. The 27-year-old has been charged and held in police custody to present before the next available court.

Report to fiscal

At 11.10pm on Thursday March 30, at Marine Court, Dunbeg, police were called to a report of a man allegedly attacking a woman. As a result of inquiries at the scene a 42-year-old man was arrested for assault and abusive/ threatenin­g behaviour. Following interview the man was charged with the offences detailed. A report has been submitted to the procurator fiscal.

Nuisance call

At 10.30pm on Tuesday March 28, at Westbay Apartments, Oban, a man allegedly repeatedly phoned 999 regarding a matter that was unrelated to the police. After being told to stop calling, he allegedly continued to abuse the emergency line. A 25-year-old man was identified as the caller and has been charged with the offence detailed. A report has been submitted to the procurator fiscal.

Driving allegation

At 1pm on Saturday April 1, on the A85, near Dalmally, officers were conducting a speed check when a blue BMW was recorded allegedly driving at speeds of up to 111mph within a 60mph zone. The vehicle was stopped and the male driver, aged 22, was charged. A report has been submitted to the procurator fiscal.
